A year in the making, the new interactive exhibition presents the latest scientific data for the climate crisis and its effects, in Israel and around the world, and spells out how we can help curb the change, as communities and as individuals.
It explains the problem, delves into issues such as carbon emissions, global warming gases, glacier melt and sea rise, features a specially designed calculator for assessing your carbon footprint, and includes a journey back in time.
“The greatest challenge facing humanity today is the environmental challenge, and the most serious and irreversible challenge is species extinction and ecosystem system loss at an unprecedented speed,” said museum chairwoman Prof. Tamar Dayan. “We are dependent on these ecological systems for our existence and therefore this is a challenge that the world must respond to.”
